Christ Works! I pray that you are having a wonderful Constitution Week and I am so thankful for all those who helped with the Mayor’s Prayer breakfast. Our cooks provided a great meal and one of our own, Pastor Carolyn, helped to lead us in prayer. It was an excellent start to an important week for this community. This week we will be continuing in the series, Living God’s Way and we will be looking at the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day set aside for rest and recharging our physical, mental, and spiritual batteries. It is a gift from God to his creation. When we don’t take a time of rest for our mind and body, we pay a price in our mental and physical health. When we don’t set aside a time to worship and be with our faith family, we pay a price in our spiritual health. We will be looking at the Sabbath and how it was created for us to bless us. I pray you can be with us this Sunday as we worship, fellowship, and rest in presence of God. May God richly bless your week and I hope to see you in church. Blessings! Rev. Mike
Christ Works! I hope you had a very blessed Labor Day weekend. Long before there was a Big Ten Conference (which now has 14 teams, I will never get that), God gave us the Big Ten Commandments. These were rules God gave directly to Moses on the Mountain. They were literally written in stone for us to learn and follow. They are commands on how we are to honor God, honor the Sabbath, and live together in community. For the next month, I will be preaching a series called Living God’s Way. We will kick off this series this week as we look at honoring God. We will also take a little time to pray for our nation as we remember the 20th anniversary of 9-11. I pray you can be with us this Sunday either in person or in the Parking lot 4 Praise as we worship, fellowship, and grow together in our knowledge and love of God. May God richly bless your week and I hope to see you in church. Blessings! Rev. Mike
The Blessing of Backpacks will also be on August 15, during the worship hour. We are requesting all students including preschoolers, to bring their backpacks to church and when asked to come to the front of the church the children can wear their backpacks for a special blessing for the school year. Children can bring their backpacks to kid’s worship and Sunday school for easy pickup.
Romans 5:1-11 Peace and Hope Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we are still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for the righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled, to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Friends, God first loved you. We are called to accept His love and the gift His Son Jesus gave to us. A part of learning to love fully, as God has loved us, is learning to love others and to share the love of Christ with them. I pray that you can come and spend time with us this Sunday in Worship and Sunday school. My plan is to praise our God in Word and song and my goal is to grow a little more in love with Jesus and one another. May God richly bless your week as you grow and serve him. Rev. Mike
I hope you can be present on Sunday as we fellowship together, sing together, and hopefully learn to love Jesus a little more. Blessings. Rev. Mike
Friends, no matter how difficult life can be, no matter the heartache or thorn in the flesh you face, know that you are loved. God loved you before he created you, He loves you each moment of your life, and if you choose to invite Jesus into your life and heart, that love carries to eternity with Him. God loves you enough that He came to die for you, so that you may live with him. He loves you right where you are, but He loves you enough to not leave you there, but to offer you a life that overcomes and is filled with His Spirit, if you allow it. I hope you can come Sunday and share with us, as we talk about God’s unconditional and amazing love for you. Rev. Mike
Reverend Mike Grant will give the message "Pray It Through."
This Sunday we invite you to celebrate Father’s Day in the Father’s House! We will gather at 9 AM for worship in the Sanctuary and at #Lot4praise! We will sing, pray, celebrate our special Dads, raise a banner with our VBS kids, and I am excited to share a message from Acts 2:42-43 “Growing Up, Down, and Out!” See you in church this Sunday! In Christ. Pastor Larry
