GriefShare

GriefShare We will be starting GriefShare sessions in August. In order to be more available to those who are grieving, we will be holding a morning and an evening session. You can attend Tuesdays at 10-11:30am or Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm (note time change for evening session). The session will run each Tuesday, August 23rd through November 15th. (The morning and the evening group will be on the same video so you can attend the other time if you are unable to make it during your regular time). Please share about GriefShare with your friends and acquaintances. If in a conversation with a stranger at the store it is shared that he had a family member or friend die, invite them to GriefShare. Pick up a few flyers to share. If you would like to know more about GriefShare because of a death you are working through, please speak to one of the facilitators. Our facilitators are Connie Sheldon, Pat Donald, Sandy Swope, Lue Perkins, and Holly Grant. If you feel the Lord’s leading to be part of the GriefShare team as a facilitator, please talk with Holly Grant. If you want to know more about the GriefShare prayer team, please give Michy Scott Foith a call.

The Intersection of Mission and Fishin!

Christ Works! Apart from the cross, the fish symbol is probably the most recognized symbol of Christian faith. It is found on cars, Bible covers, church logos, and more. When people ask about its meaning, I usually point out its Greek acronym as Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior. Taking the first letter from each word in that phrase, we have the Greek word for “fish” (icthus). The fish symbol also reminds us of the signs of Jesus’ ministry. In John 21:13 at the Sea of Galilee Jesus performed His final miracle—Disciples would be left amazed, after fishing long hours without success, Jesus provided the best big fish story ever told, and it did not conclude with the one that got away!
