The Covenant of Prayer

His power is activated by the prayers of His people. Prayer is powerful. Little prayer results in little power, Much prayer brings much power. Scripture reminds us that prayer is our mightiest weapon to defeat the enemy. As we pray, all heaven fights for us.

The devil fears prayer. He will do everything in his power to stop us from engaging in this dangerous activity.

I love this Samuel Chadwick quote, “Satan dreads nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, he mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.”

Christ Church is on a mission, (its why we exist!) To impact people for a personal saving relationship with Christ. For that noble end, our Church Goal for Sept. 1- Oct 20, 2020, we seek 100 believers to spend 50 days in prayer for non-Christians and nominal Christians in our spheres of relationship. Each day we will seek God’s Spirit to draw them into a personal saving relationship with Christ.

This Sunday you will hear more about this at #Lot4praise! We will pray for our families, schools, churches, city and nation. Bev Kibler will edify our faith in song and I don’t want you to miss Dale’s message from I Tim 2:1-4, “The Covenant of Prayer.” See you in worship this Sunday.

In Christ,

Pastor Larry
