Wednesdays at Christ Church!

“They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42

AGAPE is a multigenerational worship service that is modeled after Acts 2:42.  We have a meal at 5:30 prepared by an awesome crew of people, then we worship with a very cool worship band.  Then we hear the Word and have the opportunity to interact with each other at tables.  Finally, we end with a prayer for each other.

Great food, fellowship, worship, and growing faith! Include your family (Agape Kids & childcare provided) and invite friends and neighbors.

Agape Wednesday Schedule:

5:30 Meal & Community in Fellowship Hall.

6:15 Praise and Worship.

6:30 Agape Kids upstairs; Agape WORD in F.H.

7:15 Worship and Close.

Starting Jan. 8th – The Main Thing…Jesus!

For almost six years, Christ UMC has been offering a worship service on Wednesday nights called Agape which is Greek for LOVE.  The vision was based on Acts 2:42

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

For the first 300 years of Christianity, Christ’s followers would meet in homes and have Agape feasts, or more precisely, Love feasts.  They would share life through eating, worshiping, and focusing on the main thing…Jesus!

Which Christ UMC has been striving to do every Wednesday night through a meal starting at 5:30, with Worship and The Word presented for 1) adults with a discussion around tables and prayer for each other at the end of the evening and 2) Agape Kids where the children are lead by Pastor Wendy.

The goal has been to invite anyone and everyone from the community as an evangelistic outreach. Also, the existing church members were invited to be part of the discipleship process of making relationships and walking along with new people as we fully participate in the evening.  Which has been done well.

But, in every person’s life and a ministry’s life, we need to spend time reminding ourselves to keep the main the main thing, which is Jesus.  So, for 8 weeks ending on Ash Wednesday, we will be coming together and practice the Agape Feast by eating, worshiping, studying, and praying to start January 8th.

What exactly is AGAPE KIDS?

Wednesday nights are a valuable opportunity for children grades K-5 to grow strong and deep in God’s Word.

At Christ Church, we believe with all our hearts that children are our fullest joy and greatest privilege! We want to do whatever it takes to raise up a generation of children who are champions not just in sports, school, or social settings, but as spiritual leaders and moral shapers of generations for the honor of God. Childcare also available for infants through age four.
